  • xMrNx's codes

Hello again. I decided to just make a thread and put codes in it, rather than starting a bunch of new threads for just a handful of codes.

In this post are some stage/checkpoint modifier codes for Megaman X5, X6, and Megaman 8 for the Playstation.
For the stage/checkpoint modifier for Megaman X5, I didn't know this was already done by Floydfan until I was checking to see if my MMX4 codes were listed. It's not quite the same as his though, because it's a 16 bit code (some of the stages have a 2nd part) that uses a joker command and has a checkpoint modifier.
Unfortunately, when checkpoint modding some of the stages, the stage graphics get messed up, but are otherwise fine. I have no idea why this is, even though I'm using the right values. This also happens when checkpoint modding some of the stages in MMX6.

Note: To use, hold select at the stage select screen until the stage loads. Do press select if you're in a stage other than where the codes send you, or the game will mess up.

The no shot limit should be combined with either the rapid fire code or the max charge to buster. If you use it with the max charge to buster, you'll auto-fire a huge stream of buster shots (could cause a little slowdown).

    Thanks for reading

This experimental code is for Megaman X6 (I say this because even though it works fine for me, someone has told me they're having an issue with it that I have not been able to reproduce). What it does is make Zero Nightmare harder by tweaking his damage, level, max life, and behavior. It should all be entered as one code, but I will give you a breakdown of all the codes it uses, so you can edit it as you see fit. You can actually have his attacks do 0 damage, but X/Zero will still react to them. Normally, he doesn't use this many addresses for his damages, but I kinda forced him to use a bunch of projectiles.

    This maxes out his lifebar

Edit: Oh. Forgot about these. Here's the values to the 2 state mods I used. So you can take the addresses and make them into conditional state mods like I did.

    Zero Nightmare's state mod 1
    8008EF4C ????

    State values
    0501 - Dash
    0601 - Teleport (normal)
    0701 - Buster shot combo
    0801 - Multi buster shot
    0901 - Giga atack
    0A01 - Saber sash
    0B01 - Giant saber wave
    0C01 - Gethit

    Zero Nightmare's state mod 2
    8008EF4D ????

    State values 2
    0107 - Buster shot combo, 1st shot
0207 -Buster shot combo, 2nd shot
0307 -Buster shot combo, saber wave
0208 - Multi buster shot, firing
0308 - Multi buster shot, end
    0109 - Giga attack
    010A - Saber slash
010B - Giant saber wave, teleport
020B - Giant saber wave, firing saber wave
    010C - Gethit, teleport

The 2nd one is what I use to mod his saber slash without triggering the buster shot mod. 8008EF4C controls what state he's in, but 8008EF4E controls what part of the state he's in.

Thanks. BTW, note 4 to the Megaman X6 codes looks like it belongs in Megaman X4.

So I don't have to double post this:

Here's my stages/checkpoint modifiers for Megaman Zero (initially, they didn't have a joker command, and they weren't broken into value lists). I've got some for Megaman Zero 2-4, but I need to fix them like I did for the MMZ codes. These were tested in VisualBoy Advance 1.7.2 and 1.8.0 beta 3.

These were intended to let someone fight the bosses whenever they wanted (if you just skip to the last boss and beat the game, you just resume from where you were before you jumped to the end.), but you can use them to beat some stages more easily.

For MMZ, it's possible to beat the game by just stage/checkpoint modding yourself to the current mission's boss, but with Rainbow Devil, I had to come up with an alternate method of getting to him, so that the game didn't mess up when you talked to Ciel.

Also, I added codes that let you easily beat the bomb defusing and escorting the survior missions, and some position hacks.

These should all be for the US version.

Only 1 bomb to deactivate in the "protect factory" mission (press select+Down when you get to the 1st bomb)

Edit: Added Megaman Zero 2 stage/checkpoint mods and more codes to the position hack. More specifically, codes to force the camera to your position, so it doesn't have to catch up to you because you suddenly snap to another position. ....And I had to find another position hack for the survivor. >_<

Edit3: Added Megaman Zero 4 stage/checkpoint mods, thus completeing the set.

These codes are for Megaman Zero 1-4 for GBA and Megaman X4-X6 for PSX. There was a code from Codejunkies called Super Zero Mode that gave you the ability to fly. I used ARCrypt to get a codebreaker equivalent, and had enough of an idea of how the code worked (joker commands and addresses that control the gravity to your jumps) to attempt versions of it for the other games. Also, I'd have to check, but I recall being caught in Fefnir or Phoenix Magnion's throws in MMZ2 wasn't good with these on. Ok, it doesn't mess up the game.

Edit: removed the MMZX/MMZXA codes. I have some other NDS codes I can post along with them. Also for further tweaking of the codes. The initial ones I posted were only partially tested (they worked, but they had codes for left and right movement that didn't seem necessary). Added more codes to these for diagonal movement movement and moving while firing.

Edit 3: Attempted to make MMX4-6 versions of these codes. The ascending/descending values didn't work like they should, and were changed. Also, added codes for Megaman 8 for PSX and Megaman and Bass for GBA. Couldn't find a value to freeze the gravity without it affecting them while they're on the ground, so they float down slowly.

Edit4: The Megaman Zero 1-4 and Megaman and Bass codes should be for codebreaker.

          Megaman Zero

Zero can fly (straight up, down, left, and right, but can't attack while moving)

Note: You slowly float down when not moving around in the air.

Edit: For Megaman 8 and Megaman and Bass, I wasn't able to find a value to freeze Megaman's gravity without it affecting him while walking, so he slowly floats down.

Adding to my list, here's some codes for Wizards and Warriors 3 Kuros: Visions of Power (NES, tested in VirtuaNES) and Ren & Stimpy: Time Warp (SNES, tested in SNES9x). The infinite gold code for W&W3 that's currently posted only affects the displayed amount of gold, not the actual amount. The weapon modifier's I found's only useful if you like playing as the thief or the wizard, and want a further range to your attacks.

Note: If you add the jewels to your inventory, do not leave these codes on when using them at the underground gate to the castle. What'll happen is it'll keep taking the 1st jewel in your inventory until you shut the codes off. The gate will no longer open once it's taken 2 of the same jewel, making the game unwinable unless you use a code to force the gate open.

Underground gate to the castle opens without any jewels.
            0000A3 40

Note: Turn this on only when you're near the gate, because you automatically start walking towards it.

This looks like a good spot to break up the codes (because there's a lot for the next set) and go on a bit of a tangent.
Once upon a time, my friend rented Ren & Stimpy: Time Warp, and I had the misfortune of playing it with him. I can only recall dying a lot and those annoying time machine levels. Fast forward to the present, and I decide to cheat my way to the end to save myself the frustation. Seems I was right to do this, because the game has 2 bad endings (out of 4) where Ren AND Stimpy yell at you for not collecting enough money (curse you, THQ!).
So, I'd like to think that all these codes I found for it are my personal revenge against this game.

Note: The stages don't display or behave correctly when you first use this. To fix this, use the instantly die code to kill your character about 1 or 2 times. For the Time Machine Stages, don't try to jump to them while playing another stage, because you'll either skip them entirely, or crash the game. For them, start a new game, and make sure the infinite fuel code is off. When you get past the prologue and press start screen, you'll instantly die, but you'll then be able to play the stage normally.

Note: To use, turn on only when in the 2nd part of the time machine stages. For 1-2, don't turn the codes on until after you've made an opening in the wall, because the walls can't be destroyed once the code's on.

I've added most of these. The ones I didn't bother adding were those without a name.
In the future, please note what device your codes are for, too.

              Thanks.

How do we get these codes to work in real life?

More specifically, I'm interested in that "Always have beaver" code for Ren & Stimpy.

I have a bunch of codes for the SNES this time, but I decided to break it up into 2 posts (it's also so I can check the codes to make sure they work). With the exception of Rock Man and Forte, all of these should be for the US version.

The field modifier code for Mega Man's Soccer........I'm not sure if it's an actual field modifier but it has a side effect in certain modes.
Although the Vs mode code for Mega Man 7 will cause the game to freeze if the code's turned off, this wasn't the case when I'd change the value in Artmoney (without freezing it).
The Have Hadouken code on the site didn't work for me (maybe it's a different version than the one I found the codes in? Would that prevent some of my codes from working?)

                      13 - Gemini Man
                      14 - Dr. Wily

Note: Turn these on at the Member Select screen or Position Select screen (in the 1st round). Don't leave them on, because in the 2nd round, the P1 codes will affect P2 (and vice versa) due to the players changing positions.

                      Game Mode modifier
                      7E0089??

                      Game Mode values
                      00 - Exhibition
                      01 - Capcom Championship
                      02 - Tournament
                      03 - League

Note: This one's kinda weird. For example, turn it on at the Field Select screen in Exhibition with the code set to Capcom Championship, and instead of a choosing a field, you're now choosing a boss team to face and the game will now play out as if you selected Championship Mode. You can use this to play a 1P vs 2P Championship, Tournament, or League mode. In a 1P vs 2P Championship, both players can use whatever reserve players P1 collects. I wouldn't recommend fighting Mega Man 1st, because he gives you an empty slot when you beat him (which causes the game to crash if you swap out any of your team members with it).

                      Opponent/field modifier
                      7E0A80??

                      00 - Rock Field
                      01 - Fire Field
                      02 - Cut Field
                      03 - Dust Field
                      04 - Pharaoh Field
                      05 - Needle Field
                      06 - Elec Field
                      07 - Wood Field
                      08 - Skull Field
                      09 - Enker Field
                      0A - Proto Field
                      0B - Wily Field

Note: Turning this on at the Formation/Position Select will modify what field you're on. Turning this on at the Boss Select Screen in Championship Mode, and leaving it on until after the boss' intro screen will modify your opponent. Turning this on at the Team Select Screen in League Mode, and leaving it on until the league chart appears will modify you and your opponent. Turning this on at the Team Select Screen in Tournament Mode, and leaving it on until the tournament brackets appear will modify you (your opponent will appear to be modified, but it's just during the intro screen).

                      Castle bosses defeated modifier
                      7E0A21??

                      80 - None (Vs Enker)
                      81 - 1 (Vs Proto Man)
                      83 - 2 (Vs Dr. Wily)

Note: You won't have any reserve players using these. Also, the Vs Enker code lets you skip the Skull Castle intro (if for some reason, you want to see it, use the All 8 bosses defeated code).

                      Mega Man 7

Enable alternate music in Shade Man's stage
                      7E0BB001

Note: This doesn't affect the alternate stage selected music. Useful after Shade Man's been defeated, since you can't access it any more.

                      Can fire more weak shots
                      7E0BC800

                      Can fire more charged shots
                      7E0BC900

Note: Combine with auto fire mega buster. May cause the game to slow down because of too many things on the screen.

Access Versus Mode from title screen
                      7E013F0F

Note: Turn this on at the title screen, and the screen will abrubtly fade to black and go to the Vs Mode screen. Turning it on anytime before or after that will freeze the game. Once on, turning the code off will ALSO freeze the game. Also, in the 1st match you play, either P1 or both players may already have a win.

It took longer than I'd have liked it to, but here's the other part.

For Final Fight 3, I'm not sure if the stage labelling is correct because of how stage 5 is set up. Depending on which path you took, you can start out in the 1st or 2nd sewer area, but if you go up a ladder in the 1st sewer area, you end up in the street area to stage 4, and now have to play through stage 4 just to get the the section in stage 5 you'd have ended up at had you not taken the ladder. Also, once you get into the building in stage 5, if you take the 2nd door, you eventually end up in a room with a bunch of computers. If you break all of them, the stage ends. If you don't, or if you decided not to go into any of the rooms, the stage continues, and you fight the boss.

                        01 - Pipe
                        02 - Nunchaku
                        03 - Club
                        04 - Hammer

Note: Instead of disarming you, getting hit by the enemy will spawn another of whatever weapon you have equipped. With the hammer, this is bad, because if too many get spawned, you won't be able to throw any hammers until you get a few screens away from them.

For Rock Man and Forte (J):
7E0BB500 is used for 2 codes in a row. Is this a mistake, or accurate?

I wonder if Megaman Soccer has a hidden ending/credits screen just like Rockboard for the Famicom?
As far as I know Megaman Soccer is endless, but that's what everyone thought about Rockboard too.
