Golgo 13 level select

I've seen a Golgo 13 level select address before, but I can't find it on this site. I'm not talking about the controller sequence you can do to choose your own level, but an actual hex address to set the value at. Am I imagining this? I swear visitntx or someone found this awhile back.

Safaribans, it was Top Secret Episode. That address, 0017, is pretty shaky in terms of getting the level to work. Is it possible there is a better address to select a level more "cleanly".

I didn't see one. However, these values for the level select code (are in hex) seem to work nicely with address $17.

I think the funky colors depends on what level you were already on, there is probably some palette value that can be changed...
