ISO format is the ONLY one that I have had success with: Why? (Sega CD Patches)

First off, this is my very first post, and I am delighted to be part of your informative online community!
OK, the game that I have difficulty is the NTSC (US) version of Wolfchild on Sega CD: You see, when I apply the IPS patches to the image, although the Lunar IPS states that it has successfully patched a given image (the only version of this game that I have found are in BIN, and IMG only), in reality, the only format that these are cheats are enabled and working, is the ISO only.
I have downloaded the IPS patches for this game from this link:

and as I have stated eralier, the IPS cheats from this website work, provided that the format is in the ISO.
Now the real issue, is that when I convert these images to ISO (I have been only able to convert BIN format into ISO, using the PowerISO utility), I loose the music audio tracks!
I am using Kega Fusion 3.64 Windows on Windows OS platform. When I burn the ISO image onto the real CD, I get the same result: No music track. (using ImgBurn software, tried different CD brands, burned on different machine, with different CD burners, you name it!)
If this conversion to ISO format is not the correct way (since I loose audio tracks), how can I have these cheats enabled on these other formats then?
