Chao Growth mod freezes wii

So, I want to use this cheat
Chao Growth Modifier [goemon_guy]

DE000000 80008180
140049B4 XXXXXXXX
E0000000 80008000
Change XXXX to a floating value above 3F800000 for wacky results.
and I am using it with the 3F8 value, but it crashes the game. Any ideas?
