  • [Request] Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Need a script pointer for Bosses)

Thanks to this nifty little code from Ralf, you can have the Enemy Formations static as opposed to dynamic, like it usually is in the game...

    Code:
    Battle Modifier [Ralf]
    04085504 3B0000xx
However, if you set that "XX" to 14, and you go to Hooktail Castle with this code on... you can fight Hooktail once again. The problem with this is that the script doesn't seem to function correctly. Don't get it yet? Well, let's say you drop Hooktail's HP to 0 in the rematch. When she talks, all you get is a "No Messages[English.]" and right before you get to Hooktail's deceitful questions, guess what? Game freezes.

So, all in all, I need a code something that resets the Hooktail match's flags or at least get the script working. Can anyone help me with this? Also, it needs to be for G8ME01 (NTSC-U).

That means what, in layman's terms?

UPDATE #2: There are scripted boss battles that DO work, despite the "No Messages[English]." Need an example? 04 and 05, of the Cortez and Lord Crump battles work because well... there's no choice box like in the case of Hooktail's fight. Note: you can't fight these two just anywhere; you HAVE to fight them at Keelhaul Key. And yes, it's a simple as running into a foe.
