I was checking out a website called The Cutting Room Floor which shows hidden things in different video games (such as a hidden World Wrestling Federation logo in the arcade version of Mortal Kombat 2). According to their site, Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition & Super Street Fighter 2 have hidden test modes which can be accessed with a PAR.
Here are those articles:
SF2:SCE: http://http://tcrf.net/Street_Fighter_II:_Special_Champion_Edition_(Genes is)
PAR: 00CAF8:B0DE
GG: 55FA-BBS2
SSF2:
http://http://tcrf.net/Super_Street_Fighter_II:_The_New_Challengers_(Gene sis)
PAR: 00A1C0:79B6
GG: 04TT-BW8A
I tested them on the PAR & they work & went a step further & converted them to GG format as well & works just as good. There is a stage palette editor in there as well as an object test mode.
It makes an effective tool for for finding palette modifiers. I was hunting for character palette modifiers & managed to some, but haven't come up with all of them. The problem is the palette modifiers are only for Player 1 & not character specific. Besides that, I have a hard time recoloring video game sprites. I did manage to get Ryu with an all black outfit, with a black headband, & belt belt. His outfit changes back to its selected color when he's hit & then turns back to its designated color when he hits the opponent.
