On Youtube, I normally will watch "Joe Gagne's Funtime Pro Wrestling" videos. He normally reviews retro & some recent wrestling games. On occasion he'll even review the Japanese wrestling games. The one thing the blows my mind is how many different Japanese wrestling games there were for the SNES, Genesis, PS1, & PS2 that never made it here to the US. My teenage years suddenly feel cheated.Last edited by BigBossman; 11-02-2017, 09:57:27 AM.

BigBossman, a wrestling fan on The Video Game Critic forums has been reviewing wrestling games. He's reviewed wrestling games from the NES all the way up to the PS4 and Xbox One. I enjoyed reading them. Here's the link if you're interested:

Adventure Island III - NES - RAW
Movement Speed Modifier
0035:??
NOTE: Depending on the value used, using the skate board will be slower. Using too high of a value will make it difficult to complete a stage. Lower values will make Higgins move much slower & will make it to where he can't jump as far. I'd recommend not using any values higher than "62".
Axes Everywhere
004F:01
NOTE: Everything is replaced with an axe. This includes enemies, fruit, rocks, & eggs. This code would be best used with an infinite time code.
Alter Enemy Types & Movements
004E:01
Invincibility
0081:01
NOTE: Higgins will have a sparkly design around him & will be invincible to everything except pits & running out of time.
Total Darkness
00A8:01
NOTE: Makes it to where all you can see are enemies, fruits, eggs, & Higgins. You can't see the landscape.
Axes Travel Straight Ahead
0079:01
007A:01
NOTE: When axes are thrown, instead of dropping down after going a short distance, they travel across the entire length of the screen.
Alternate Stage Colors
0023:01
Greyscale Graphics
0028:01
Slower Descent After Jumping
0088:01
Stage Scrambler
0007:01
NOTE: Alters the layout of some of the stages with subtle changes. This code would be best used with a jump higher code. Some areas might be harder to reach without it.
Disable Sound & Music
001A:01
Finish Stages Much Earlier
008E:01
NOTE: This code still needs some tweaking. In Area 1-1 & 1-2, you'll complete the stage almost as soon as the screen starts to scroll. Once you enter Stage 1-3, you plummet to your death.

Adventure Island II - NES - RAW
Low Gravity Jumps
0087:01
NOTE: This will allow you to jump a bit higher. Hold the jump button down & continue to hold it to slow your descent down.
Slower Descent after Jumping
0088:01
NOTE: Similar to the "Low Gravity Jumps" code, except you only jump at the normal height & don't have to hold the jump button to have a slower descent.
Jump to a Higher Ledge
0089:7F
NOTE: Jumping will elevate you to an area above where you are. Going off the ledge won't kill you. You'll just land on the ground below.
Different Stage Color Arrangement 1
0023:01
Different Stage Color Arrangement 2
0029:01
Movement Speed Modifier
0035:??
NOTE: Depending on the value used, using the skate board will be slower. Using too high of a value will make it difficult to complete a stage. Lower values will make Higgins move much slower & will make it to where he can't jump as far. I'd recommend not using any values higher than "62".
Distorted Stages

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (PAL) - NES - RAW
Max Hearts
0048:99
0049:99
Max Experience
0046:99
0047:99
Have All Daggers, Holy Water, Diamond, Sacred Flame, & Wooden Stake
004A:FF
Mansion Music Plays During the Daytime
0024:01
NOTE: This works in both towns & most other areas. At nighttime, the normal music plays. Setting the values at "02" or higher will have no music played.
Stage Scrambler
0051:05
NOTE: Value "05" puts you in a scrambled area, which is interesting to explore. Using value "03" starts you off in a purple shaded town with a guy that you can buy holy water from. This isn't the town you normally start off in & for some reason he's outside.
Area Modifier
0030:??
NOTE: This will start you at various spots & even have strange effects on other areas when you try to leave.
Values -
00 - Start in the starting town. Exiting to the left will take you to scrambled stage & then into one of the churches.
01 - Start in front of a mansion. Once you enter, it has a red & gray hue to it.
02 - Start in the forest to the right of the starting town.
03 - Start in a graveyard left of the starting town.
04 - Start at the area where someone in brown clothing says "I'll give you a diamond".
05 - Start in Dracula's Castle.
06 - Start in a red glitchy area. Can only jump.
07 - Another red glitchy area. Unable to move or jump.
08 - FROZE
Enemies Respawn after being killed
003C:01
Enemies & Town People Fall Through the Floor / Ground
003A:01
Weird Enemy & Town People Movement
0037:01
NOTE: You probably won't get far with this code. All of the town people & enemies move very fast when moving from left to right. Enemies will also pass through solid objects. Any town person or enemy that normally appears on the right side of the screen will almost instantly vanish. Even the priest in the church won't want anything to do with you. He'll go through a wall just to get away from you.
Disable Sound & Music
001B:01

A good idea for a hack would be to restore the references to Guevara and Castro and whatever else NOA censored in Guerrilla War.

Guevara (J) - NES - RAW
I never would have guessed that they would have made a game based on two real life dictators (Che Guevara & Fidel Castro). I guess that Nintendo of Japan was allowed to violate their own rules when it came to making games. Nintendo of America on the other hand wasn't allowed to use any references to actual people. My childhood feels somewhat tainted since knowing that playing Guerrilla War, I was helping two future dictators over throw a government & take over a country. If SNK wanted to market it to the United States & put a patriotic flair to it, they could have reworked the graphics to make it look like we were over throwing the British. Player 1 could have been George Washington & Player 2 could have Paul Revere. Instead of tanks, they could have been on horseback.
Player 1 has Infinite Lives
0028:09
Player 2 has Infinite Lives
0029:09
Player 1 is Invincible
0680:01
NOTE: This works even if your tank blows up.
Player 2 is Invincible
0681:01
Stage Modifier
000B:??
NOTE: Use Values 00 - 09.
Disable Music
001E:01
Tank Doesn't Blow Up
04C2:80
Instant Game Over
0033:01
Burst Fire
000C:01
NOTE: Your machine gun fires three shots at once.
Music & Sound are Disabled
0055:01
Direction Facing Modifier
0043:??
NOTE: It makes me wonder if there was an intention of having 8-Way firing in this game.
Values -
00 - Facing Upwards
01 - Facing Up & Right
02 - Facing Right
03 - Facing Down & Right
04 - Facing Down
05 - Facing Down & Left
06 - Facing Left
07 - Facing Up & Left
Player 2 is Active
004D:01
NOTE: Even after selecting 1-Player Mode.

When there are multiple enemies on screen, it tends to flicker a little bit.Originally posted by terpsfan101 View Post^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Enemy on the far right of your last picture is missing his Torso, lol.
I was trying to catch a snapshot, without them all clumping together.

0048:01
NOTE: Can't get too far with this code since one of the enemies keeps respawning every time you beat him.
