@ OldSchoolGamer Honestly, I didn't go very far into the game, wasn't sure what to do exactly and didn't want to go to gamefaqs to find out. What I played seemed decent enough though.

I have a request for you. I want to know... is it possible for cecil to die in the intro of Final Fantasy 2 (SNES)? And if so, what happens?
Pretty much during the scripted fights aboard the airship where we have no control, I would like to see what would happen if cecil dies during that. Perhaps make the monster invulnerable (or raise it's hp with a code) & bring cecil down to 1 hp during that fight? hmm... maybe I'll look into that, but it's likely that the game will freeze or have some sort of error since it's probably scripted that he wins. I don't hack RPGs very often, but I'll keep this in mind.

Well I found that 7E200701 will knock Cecil's HP down to 1, had to use a save state before he fought the monsters because sometimes he'd still win anyways, but I did get him to die and the game proceeded afterwards like nothing happened. Oh well, it was worth a try I guess. Don't know if this address is used later or not, or if someone else already hacked it for something else.

I think once you land at baron, it uses the HP that cecil had from the fights on board the ship.
It seems that if he dies here, the game checks if he's "alive" or "dead". If he's "dead", it restarts the opening sequence from the beginning & returns cecil to full hp... or in this case 1hp with the code being active

Yep. Is there anyway to force the game to proceed instead of looping that with the cecil dead code enabled? I imagine it would send you to a gameover screen... but who knows lol
