New Game Genie, N64, GC, Wii, & PS2 Codes

  • Updated this code so that the C button has its own function. Only added one more code at the very end (the rest of the codes are exactly the same as before).

    Sonic 1 (REV00) (Genesis)

    Pause the game and press A, B, or C for different cheats. A = invincibility. B = add 10 rings and an extra life. C = add 10 rings. Note that you won't see the extra items until you pick up a ring, or lose a life, but you DO get them. Also, the invincibility needs to be re-enabled if you lose a life, finish a level, or if you pick up another invincibility (from a TV, etc).

Can repeat for more rings, but if you go over 100, you won't get your extra life until you collect a ring while playing. Also, the invincibility needs to be re-enabled if you lose a life, finish a level, or if you pick up another invincibility (from a TV, etc).

      EDIT: also, I changed one code so that the game automatically unpauses when you press A (just like it does when you press B or C). I think that's better because it visually shows that something happened when you press a button.

            Almost finished with the "Pause and press A,B,C" codes. I couldn't simply set a RAM address to enable the speed shoes, so I simulated the speed shoes the best I could. I found that if I used the exact values that the speed shoes use for top speed and acceleration, the game would cause you to lose a life after exiting the double set of "S" tubes in level 1 because you were traveling so fast. Sonic would go out of the screen just enough to make the game think you were supposed to die. The value I used for top speed seems to be the max amount to avoid that. I also set the acceleration value a tad bit higher than what the speed shoes use. The values are completely adjustable by simple code modification.

            Pause the game and press A, B, or C for different effects. A = Activates debugger. B = Increases Sonic's top speed and acceleration. C = Increases acceleration only. If you press A to activate the debugger, you'll be a ring and can move anywhere on the level. Press A to cycle thru items, press C to place the items, and press B to exit debugger and try out your new level. The top speed and acceleration will only last until you die or finish the level, but you can simply re-enable it whenever you want.

                  Don't fall when you walk off ledges (Walk on air). Press Jump to drop down. Note that this code can sometimes cause Sonic to be slightly below ground level, but can be easily fixed by pressing Jump. If you have problems getting thru the double "S" tubes on the first level, just slow Sonic down after the first tube so you enter the second tube slower.

                    There's a problem with the code you can't roll in tunnels and get stuck in places or run the loops

                      As it says in the code description, pressing Jump will fix it.

                      EDIT: When you get stuck slightly below ground level like right before the S Tubes/tunnels, pressing jump will make Sonic jump up and land on the true ground level. As far as running the loops, I didn't have any problem with those.

                      EDIT2: If you have problems getting thru the double "S" tubes on the first level, just slow Sonic down after the first tube so you enter the second tube slower. Will update the code description.

                        • Thanks you much for recent codes for STH1 you're posted, dear Tony Hedstrom! Anyway, you can make a codes as additional to my requests posted a few days ago:

                          red exit on Bonus Stage is disabled - aka touching it doesn't make Sonic to automatically exit the bonus stage;
                          Sonic don't die when he get smashed by moving objects (I'm surprised there are invincibility codes against enemies, bullets or spikes but there is still nothing made about protection against death occuring when Sonic goes under an moving map object and it press him).

                              Unicode, since I'm not really familiar with the game, a couple questions...

                              If the red exit is disabled, will there be a way for Sonic to exit the bonus stage?

                              Where does Sonic get smashed by moving objects?

                                Difficult code to make, but seems to work fine.

                                Touching the red "Goal" markers in the Special Stages won't make you exit.

                                Let me know if there's any way to exit the special stage with the code active. If not, then I'll add something like "Turn code off to exit" to the code description.
