  • I'm not sure why they call the Phoenix Edition bootleg since the RAM and ROM addresses are the same except that one is encrypted and the other one is not.

            • Hey nolberto, any luck with the Killer Instinct 2 stuff?

              • I took a look at what you wanted from Blades of Steel, but unfortunately that's not a minigame, it's a scripted interactive event (like a cutscene) disguised as a minigame.
Yeah, I had a feeling it was going to be different and more difficult than a normal "Infinite Time" code.

I don't know why you want this though, because once you do destroy the ship, the minigame would just end or stay frozen until you disable the code, either way, no new enemies will appear.
Oh I didn't know that. I thought that more enemies would eventually appear after destroying the ship.

                • Is there going to be a MAME section created in the database where your MAME cheat codes can be stored/archived? I think there should be. Even though you said that Pugsy will be adding your codes to his next release of cheat.zip, I still think there should be a section in this website's database where your MAME cheat codes can be added. That's just my opinion though.

I haven't looked into it yet.

You'll have to ask an administrator about that. I think there should be a section for it too.

What? But didn't you play the "minigame"? After you shoot the ship the cutscene ends and even when you don't shoot it, it also ends.

I say there's no point in doing that. Not everyone knows how to edit .xml files and besides, there's already a database with all the codes (Pugsy's site). It's easier to download the cheat.zip than to manually create an .xml file and enter the cheats posted on this site.

                              • Whittling down the list nicely I see. Today (when I wake up) I will be on a mission to learn this new fan-gelled mame debugger. I do have one question however, I see that there is documentation on setting a "Breakpoint" but how do you specify it as read, write or execute? Also would it be possible to make an example (in School of Hacking) of each on any game of your choice (I'm about the method and not so much about the asm of what you choose)?

I see arcades as an untapped gold mine of hacks just waiting to be created (I'm growing a bit stale of the NES/SNES since they obviously have the best tools available to hack them.) Hopefully my experience with ASM I know won't fail me on my mission . Again thank you for the continued work on my list!
