  • Why do trusted websites not use Extended Validation?

This might be a dumb question but I was always curious ...

Why do some trusted websites not use Extended Validation? http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/...tion-is-secure

For example, websites like Facebook, ESPN, etc. how come they all don't use EV?

Not sure if I fully understand what you mean but recently Sega Retro (Owned by Sonic Retro) has started using CloudFlare to protect against DDoS attacks. It tells me this almost every time I visit there. I mean come on I hack games not websites.

I wonder if they were attacked recently the reason they added protection.

Maybe websites only use EV on websites where money transactions occur? ex: paypal
