You know how I feel about Sopranos. Oz is another one of my favorites. Too many people have never seen or even heard about it. It was such a great show.

But Sex and the City is a lil too girlish for me. I mean, I used to have to watch it sometimes with my ex gf... it was decent, but each episode is the same. I used to call the show "Pigs and the City". Because they are a bunch of pigs... they go out and bang a new guy every other episode and then bitch and moan that they can't find true love. Well... maybe if they didn't spread their legs with every guy they meet, they would.

I don't quite get why you feel like you have to run HBO down. If you don't like their shows enough to pay for it, good for you.

Netflix is great, but the $8 streaming version isn't exactly a cornucopia of everything ever made. There are a lot of movies they won't be getting any time soon, and some they'll probably never get. Likewise with their selection of TV serials, and a lot of the ones they do have, their licensing is running a season and even two or three seasons behind. If I get bored, and feel like watching Rocky again, I won't be doing it on Netflix streaming, nor will I be able to watch even the downhill seasons of the Simpsons. I can get an awful lot of B-grade horror and kung fu films, though.

Short of piracy, there's no way you'll get access to all the content you might want to view by using any one service. If you've only got $8 to spend, Netflix probably gives you the most bang for your buck in terms of the raw amount of content. Although, you might be better served with Hulu Plus or something, if you're big into keeping up with your shows as much as you can without getting cable. Well, provided they have what you're looking for.

I'd have to say my current favorite show is Banshee.
It's very violent and has a lot of nudity, but it's fuckin' awesome.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banshee_%28TV_series%29

Unfortunately there is only 10 episodes out right now.
Check it out if you like those types of shows.

The Sopranos is so fucking awesome, well made and has such high production values that it's almost a shame to call it a TV series. I prefer to look at it as one long movie with several intermezzos :P

I just read a little about it. Approximately $12 a month for shows I've never heard of nor cared about along with some movies before they hit Netflix. I've heard of Game Of Thrones & seen a chunk of True Blood, and don't really care. The rest of the series I saw on the list I don't know nor care about, and I think a few of them might have a few seasons on Netflix, but I don't care. Movies? They'll eventually end up on Netflix if I ever cared. It's nothing I couldn't live without. I'll stick with my list of:
    South Park
    Family Guy
    American Dad
    Breaking Bad
    Weeds
    Fringe
    X-Files
    Dr Who
    Torchwood
    Venture Brothers
    Monk
    Psyche
    Burn Notice
    Mythbusters
"supposedly" Dexter (it might have been there at some point, but I have yet to find it in the past 2 years)
    A ton of comedians
    Same for horror movies
Many other things I can't remember at the moment
Another ton of other movies and other series. I can safely say I'll never get bored ever.

HBO Go at least started with "over 400 hours" worth of stuff to watch. I don't know how much they have, but I get the feeling I'm looking at years with Netflix.

HBO Go is great if you already subscribe to HBO. It's basically like Netflix, but every HBO show readily available, as well as the movies they currently offer and other stuff. I like a lot of HBO's series, so I love it. I definitely will not be sharing my password.

I've never even heard of HBO Go. Netflix all the way for me, screw commercials and I'll watch what I want when I want for $8 a month.

Go to jail for a year for sharing HBO Go passwords

Jail for sharing HBO Go passwords New York Times tech journalist Jenna Wortham made a confession that could be used to send her to prison for a year or more.

What was the startling criminal admission? She uses someone else's password to sign into the cable-subscriber-only HBO Go app to watch ‘Game of Thrones.’
