  • Atari ST Version Of Solomon's Key Ported To Commodore Amiga

    By Cauterize

Many years ago we found ourselves at the centre of confrontation over which gaming system was superior - something which often resulted in schoolyard fights and fan-boy wars. In 2013, however, one side - the Commodore Amiga - has gained the upperhand thanks to several Atari ST exclusives being ported over to its rival system, with Solomon's Key being the latest.

Although many will to this day argue that the Atari ST was overshadowed by the powerful Amiga, it did have a selection of exclusive titles which left Commodore gamers jealous. As of recent though, Amiga gamers have begun remedying this situation by reverse engineering these ST titles and porting them onto the Amiga. International Karate was one of the more recent titles to receive this treatment, alongside the likes of Gauntlet, Joust and Super Sprint.

Tecmo's 1986 arcade classic, Solomon's Key is the newest Atari ST port to jump ship and swim to rival shores. Commodore Amiga group Wanted Team recently updated their page of homebrew software to include a downloadable version of Solomon's Key, ready to run on a stock Commodore Amiga.

The download has been provided as a DMS file, an early attempt at creating image files of Amiga software, which will require a bit of work to extract beforehand though.
