I saw that one a while ago when I was on a "viewing crazy MARIO videos on Youtube" kick. That is INSANE!

Yeah I saw that. I was going to mention about him probably rewinding but I didn't.

And also I saw that he had more lives at the end of the game than at the beginning of the game.

Isn't that normal? He picked up 2 extra men by stomping a combination of enemies in a row (2:54 in the video). It also states in his video title, and description tags that it is a TAS.

oh ok. But I could have sworn him missing a jump on one of the turtle shells so he can rise higher and also I thought I saw half of one of those snappers through half Mario's body. And also I saw that he had more lives at the end of the game than at the beginning of the game.

That's a cool video. He was using multiple cheat codes such as an "invincibility" and "jump in mid-air" codes. You can see on several occasions where he should have died from those snapping enemies that line the blocks but Mario went right through them without dying. Also, you can see where he used a "jump in mid-air" code. Other codes were probably also used, such as "infinite lives" because he ended the level with more lives than he began it. It's funny seeing people's comments on youtube that actually think he didn't use cheat codes.

He didn't use cheats (well not the form your used to seeing), this was a tool assisted (TAS) run done on a rerecording emulator. All the tricks you see him doing are real glitches in the game, but they are done with super human precision due to him using the special emulator that has the ability to rewind and pretty much do over infinitely while he is recording. Unlike normal emulators his saved states are actual movie states he can revert (also rewinding the video to the point where the state was created) to if he messes up and give him the ability to slow down the emulator without it showing up in the final movie (due to the movie being saved as a playback file instead of the final movie initially). The end result is flawless play that is not humanly possible. So yes it is cheating in a way, but there was no game modification of any sort involved.

I don't think I've ever seen a more impossible level for Super Mario World ever, and I've played Battletoads for the SNES which was already very impossible.

I was sent this link on YouTube not too long ago. This is one crazy hack. Anybody tried this yet? I might give it a try later tonight.
