  • Steve Jobs Dead at 56

    Wed Oct 5, 2011 7:56pm EDT

(Reuters) Apple Inc co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs, counted among the greatest American CEO's of his generation, died on Wednesday at the age of 56, after a years-long and highly public battle with cancer and other health issues.

Jobs' death was announced by Apple in a statement late on Wednesday.

The Silicon Valley icon who gave the world the iPod and the iPhone resigned as CEO of the world's largest technology corporation in August, handing the reins to current chief executive Tim Cook.

Jobs, who fought a rare form of pancreatic cancer, was deemed the heart and soul of a company that rivals Exxon Mobil as the most valuable in America.

I was told about his passing 10 mins ago. I hope he got the chance to see the release of the 4S before he passed. Many inventors don't get the chance to see their ideas come to fruition. May he rest in peace.

I just got up a few hours ago & the media has been harping on it all morning long. I realize the guy was an inivator, but I'm already getting tired of hearing about his death. I'm not trying to sound insensitive about his passing. I just wish the media would mention it, move on, & talk about something else far more pressing.
Hacking games is always fun because you don't know what's hidden in the game.

Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG
