  • Just dropping by

Hey, all. It's J.Sax (or Sax) from the old GSC.com. I found this site a few weeks back and figured I'd drop in to say hello. I haven't been around at all since the site died, back when I was both site and forum admin over there.

I see that Viper's still hanging around. I talk to him every once in a while on AIM. How is everyone else doing? Any other vets still on the scene?

Heh, welcome to GSHI. Good to see people from kind of back in the day show up again. Not sure who might be around though...

As for those hailing from the GSC side of the scene, Macrox moved over here, but eventually left the scene entirely (though he still drops by from time to time), and yes, there's still Viper, and most of Kodewerx (which means most of the GSC.org hackers) drops by here from time to time. As for general VG hacking scene vets, myself, LMZ, Ace, DarkSerge, KingEdgar0, and probably a few staff members I'm forgetting that've been around for almost a decade, as well as quite a few general members of GSHI are still around...not to mention those people who'll poke their heads in every now and again (RPGod, CzarDragon, Parasyte, etc).

And yeah, good to see you here, man. We (the scene in general) need as many long-time members as possible. Stick around, if you've got the time.

Nice. I do remember a lot of the names. So mac was still pulling his "I'm in, I'm out" thing recently?

I'm not into hacking anymore at all, but I still love my games. I was playing Final Fantasy IX recently and wasn't playing through some of those ridiculous mini-games, so I brought out the PSX with the Pro and found this place with a Google search, looking for a GSC archive.

I'll probably drop in from time to time, though. I was a member of GSCCC from '98-'99 and GSC from '99-'05, a good seven years in the community. I kind of miss posting on a gaming forum, especially hacking since it was always interesting to me. Only reason I really vanished was because updating GSC.com/administering the forums was too much when I was a freshman in college and trying to get adjusted to the workload. My roommate at the time was the other admin and we were both like, "eh, fuck this. There's no time." It's cool that everyone migrated after that site went down, though.

Yeah, but he seemed pretty sure of it this time, at least as far as hacking goes, but he still drops by from time to time.

Nice @ GSPro; I still have mine as well

            You were Stinky's roommate, then?

No, no. My roommate was BuckNut (or ShadowWarrior). I don't think he ever touched the main site even though he had access, but he kept on eye on the forums more than I did. This was around the time KEEPER was running the forums; he bumped us up to admin.

Stinky was never really around at that point. He was probably the one who pulled the plug on the site, though, am I right? I don't blame him...it went straight down into the ground.

Ah, I see. I remember hearing about Keeper, though I don't know much about him.

Yes, I do believe Stinky was the one that pulled the plug, though I don't know why exactly, and in what state GSC was in at the time. I believe I spent most of my time at GSCCC back then, when I wasn't working on GSHI...

Then some (most?) of GSC's members moved over to GSC.org, and I believe it slowly went downhill from there. Though, this is only hearsay, and Viper or one of the other ex-GSC members could probably shed more light.

Well, GSC.org went to shit mostly because Rune played nazi with the code DB and Para and others got tired of it. Hence, bsfree.org and KW.

Anyway, it's nice to see you around these parts, Sax (*cough* Pokemon Master! *cough*). Get some time off and come to the get-together. It's only a 2-3 hour drive for you. You probably drive farther to some of those goddamn wrestling events and concerts. (Check your myspace)
