Tread Carefully at GBATemp!

Take what they say with a grain of salt, as that website (and especially the chatroom!) is full of trolls of all stripes. They include those whom a lot of members here still hold in high regards, but I am warning everyone here that GBATemp is NOT what it appears on the surface. It has a glossy veneer hiding a rotten, troll-infested core.

I wouldn't make this stuff up. I used to hold that site in high regards, myself. Now that I've seen its seedy underbelly, I highly doubt I'll ever visit there again, and I suggest everyone on this site to walk on eggshells there, because you never know what troll is lurking, just waiting to strike.

I also suggest that we mine that site for whatever info we can glean from it, so we no longer need to go there.

People in the chatroom even had the gall to call THIS site a "joke". I saw it with my own eyes, and find it hard to believe that such slander would be uttered by members of an erstwhile reputable hacking site.

In my eyes, it's no longer a reputable site, but one of "ill-repute", if you catch my drift.

I apologize in advance if this post offends anyone, but this needs to be said, painful as it may be.

I've never been in contact with the members on that forum but was tight with some of the more famous hackers of yore on the cheats.gbatemp forum which has been dead for a long time and those were good people. Like I said I don't know about the main forum especially now a days, and when it comes to hacking codes they did develop some amazing tools but the actual codes being made we here definitley have the skill just look at Dybbles and Nolberto's codes for 3DS. But I don't want to start a flame war with them over whatever crap is said, just let it be unless they come here to start trouble.

I wholeheartedly agree. Besides, there is a very easy way around the whole 3DS-downgrading issue: USE AN EMULATOR. Yes, there are 3DS emulators out there, the best of which (as far as I know) is e3DSx. I'm about to at least try to track that one down, and then, if I succeed, get it to work.

Personally, I don't really see the point in worrying about this. GBATemp is a huge community so yes, there are bound to be many trolls amongst its user base. And conversely, there are many decent folks there. Trolls are a part of the internet, just like cat pics and porn. They are easy to spot and if you don't want to interact with them, then simply don't. To suggest that GBATemp is simply an elaborate front for some kind of conspiratory plot to troll all who dare enter is a tad bit absurd.
