The highest number you can reach using all ten fingers is 2047 (2, raised to the 11th power, minus 1).
However, there is a remote Pacific island where an intricate method of hand and finger positioning at varying heights along their bodies (and even above their heads) enables the natives to reach numbers into the millions. All ten fingers held outstretched as far above the head as can be reached comfortably signifies "infinity", or, at least a number beyond which the islanders can't comprehend anything larger. Such tiny dots of land are also known to be home to tribes who worship Prince Phillip of England as a "god", as well as tribes who use boulders often weighing several tons as "coins".

How to count to 1,000 on two hands
By Michele in California
How to count to 1,000 on two hands covers counting on your fingers in binary, a skill far more people should have. Be careful you don't offend anyone when you hit 4, 128 and especially 132.
