  • Chinese Google...

As most of you probably know, Google eventually folded to China's demands, and is now censoring all throughput. Thereby, people in China can't see anything on the net about the Tienanmen Square incident, or anything else that China doesn't want them to. They are Communist, afterall.

Funny thing, though. I used a proxy in China a little while ago, and checked out Google.com, which doesn't show up. So I went to Chine's Google.cn, and searched for Tienanmen Square. Most of what I got was tourist info and news about things like landscaping, but this was interesting: http://www.leeall.net/node/16/

I'd like to send everyone in China a proxy system like the one I use, heh...

Google isn't the only company being friendly with China's censorship. Both Yahoo and Microsoft have bent over, without even any resistance.

Of course, you have to also remember that Google is going around blocking results that are in violation of the DMCA, and who knows what else... Which really sucks, but they're still better than their competitors for the most part.
