At least in the case of the DSP-1 that was in Super Mario Kart the game didn't really use much if any of the functionality of the chip. It was mostly added as an anti-piracy protection.

I'm pretty sure at the moment, only the DSP-2/3/4 and SPC7110 chips aren't quite emulated. There are also other things that haven't been figured out yet or are being generally ignored.

I know the the Super FX & SFX2 Chips are for Ploygons..What does chips for Street Fighter Alpha 2, Mega Man X2, Super Mario Kart & Mega Man X3 do..I know SFA2 with 2 chips is for the Grafixs, Do they have a site to explain it
