Microsoft's Plan To Win Over Windows 7 Users

Damn did Windows 8 have a 2 year life cycle? it seemed like it was killed rather quickly. For me I really dislike the whole touch screen style interface unless it's for tablets and other devices that natively use it so I like how they are making it so desktops/laptops will have the classic desktop and other devices use the tiles. I just hope when it's in the desktop mode that all things are easy to find like in Windows 7 since I never understood why would you move essential items (control panel and such) to other places when it worked fine where it was for the last 7 years.

I'm not trying to take your opinion from you, and you are right that Win7 is a great OS. But it seems to me that people are turning away from Microsoft's attempts to mend fences with their new OS releases, just out of spite. I have seen so much real hate for something as soulless as software.

Originally posted by Mary Jo FoleyIt's still early in the Windows development cycle for Microsoft to have decided on packaging, pricing and distribution, but my sources say, at this point, that Windows Threshold is looking like it could be free to all Windows 8.1 Update, and maybe even Windows 7 Service Pack 1, users.
